The entry costs around US$5 and includes a guide, the tour of the ruins, and the tour of the 2 small museums (about 2h for my tour, and I was alone so I got a private tour). I thought the tour was interesting. It is...More

This is a small collection of ruins protected by UNESCO. The old town of Leon (it has been rebuilt thus there is a 'new' Leon) was destroyed by earthquake. Do not think this will be reminiscent of Pompeii or you will be disenchanted. Also, do...More

Partially unearthed foundations of an old Spanish community destroyed by and earthquake centuries ago. A UNESCO site only partially explored. Not a lot to see, but worth the visit if you are in the area.

This site is exactly what'd you think ruin coming out the ground. If you're into history and such you'll enjoy it but don't expect to see much because there wasn't much left. My grandparents said it looks like emptied out pools. That being said I...More

... These were only moderately interesting. However the tour guide, Sonia, was very good and knowledgable. I recommend going because it's an education, ties in to other history in Leon and also because there is an incredible view of Momotombo and the lake. Nice drive...More
