Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Turn off the 117 road at Podspilje and wind your way up mount Hum. It's not very well signposted but as you near the top there is a yellow 'Panorama' sign. Park here and walk up the path to you right. There are great views down to Komiza and over the entire island. It's a very quiet and peaceful place with a chapel perched on top. There is only room to step inside the chapel so it doesn't take much time to look around. On the way down (or up) you can stop off to visit Tito's cave. It's not very spectacular but it it affords good views over the island towards Vis town and is something different to see. Again, it's not very well signposted. In fact there is no sign at all, but midway up the mount Hum road on the right as you go up, on the apex of a bend, you will see a flight of steps (picture attached) that forms part of the Vis to Mount Hum path. Take the steps and the cave is immediately above after a short walk.

It gets kinda cold at the top by the time the sun sets but that does not take anything away from the pretty view of Komiza and the rest of the island. During the day one has a beautiful panoramic view of the entire island and in the evening seeing the sun set over Komiza is just breathtaking.

We were lucky enough to reach this place at the sunset. The air was pretty cold, compared to the rest of the island, and there were also some clouds surrounding us (fascinating, but you had better bring a lon-sleeved shirt!), but the view was astonishing. This is the highest place of the whole island and the small church on top is worth a visit.

The views of Komiza are phenomenal and the chapel on the mountain top is sorta humbling. Offers of money, jewelry, mementos dot the little chapel. Titos caves are another story, reaching them requires climbing a number of stairs that are home to a rather large population of bees and wasps. The caves themselves are a bit anti-climactic, but if you can brave the flying insects its worth a visit.

Go there before sunset when is not so hot and when moderate breeze starts to blow and enjoy the magnificent view. You can come all the way to top with a car, just drive towards podspilje and turn in zena glava village and follow the signs. At the top of the mounting is also a small chapel. Enjoy the sunset and view from here, bring with you a bottle of excellent wine from Vis,2 glasses and enjoy in this beauty.

This is the highest point on the island, and the views are fantastic. You can drive up to the top easily, but there are also a few hiking paths. I didn't try it, but it's sign posted from Tito's cave as an hours walk.
The highest point looks over Komiza town and is surely the best spot to watch the sunset on the island. Dont' forget your camera!!

If you are looking for breathtaking views over Komiža and the Adriatic then you've found it. This is the top of Vis island and is a truly beautiful spot. There is a little church and a vast expanse of sky to watch the sun setting

Renting scooters and riding around the island of vis was one of my favorite things I have done in Croatia, and I have done a lot, and taking the scooter to the peak of mount hum was the highlight of that trip. If you are two be careful as you may not make it or you will slow down to speeds of about 12 km/hour which is what happened to us but once we got there it was well worth it.

No benches, garbage cans, there is nothing except the chapel and a beautiful view. Should not allow the arrival of the car. There are a lot of garbage.

We hired a car for the day and Mount Hum was our last stop as we wanted to be there for sunset. Make sure you take the old road from Komiza, not the new one, follow the signs for Titos caves (Mount Hum itself was not signposted) follow the road up the mountain and then stop and park on the side of the road by the sign for panorama Komiza, before the military base. The views are amazing and when we went we were the only people up there. It gets a bit chilly so take a jumper. Definitely worth a visit.
