Great picnic spot!
Aug 2019
I had heard about this spring and we decided to stop and check it out on our way to Iron Mountain. It's a nice easy on/off FREE roadside site. They have a couple picnic tables with shade and since we were road tripping across the UP we decided to have a picnic lunch. It was nice to get to talk to locals who were coming by to fill jugs from the spring. Locals say it has a lot of minerals in it that are good for you. You can make this a quick stop and just get a sip or fill a water bottle or hang out and enjoy. The water is cold, crisp, and has a clean taste.

Tasty Water!
Sep 2019
This spring was very cool! It has a place for cars to park so they can take their empty water jugs up to fill. I couldn't believe the amount of people who go there to get this water. Had a taste of it and it was very refreshing. Just a good cold and clean taste.

Pleasant stop
Aug 2019
This is a quaint way side to stop and view as you travel toward Iron Mountain. There is adequate parking and there is a path to walk and explore the side of the mountain where the spring is filled from. You can view a waterfall in the background. Bring a picnic lunch!

Jealous we don't have one

Really wasn't sure what this was but noticed cars stopping for a minute or two and leaving. So we stopped and we're quite surprised that you can fill your water bottles from the spring and this is why people were stopping. While it only took up a few minutes of our trip everyone wanted to stop each time we drove past.

Nice respite

Very scenic roadside attraction in a very beautiful location. A natural spring cascades down a series of vibrant waterfalls. Interpretive signs describe the nature and history of the spring and surrounding area.

Located in the Upper Peninsula, NOT Michigan's Thumb
Oct 2017 • Family
Tripadvisor map as of 6/24/18 showed location east of Flint in Michigan's thumb region. Just want to make sure people know that this spring is in Michigan's upper peninsula west of Norway. And its a great place with great water.

Cute little stop

This spring fed artesian well is quite the little stop. Located just off of US 2, it is landscaped very naturally and surrounded by beautiful trees. Don't forget to fill up your water bottles!

Odd looking spring by the side of the road, worth a stop.

Norway Spring has a story. While drilling for iron ore, a local mining company perforated an aquifer and created this artesian well (a spring). They built this stone mound around it with a spot to drink like from a fountain and a compartment to fill jugs. The water is clear, cold and delicious. The well is so deep that there is no danger of contamination.

There is a nice highway pull off which is very safe from passing cars. Kids will be fascinated by the water coming from the ground, and you can take five minutes to stretch your legs. There's an interpretive sign and a picnic table.

What's not to like? And just across the highway is an Alpaca Farm.
