We had been here before but stopped again just for the exercise. You pay a dollar in the gift store then climb the steps to see a great view. It's a decent climb, good way to stretch your legs. There's a Paul Bunyan figure outside...More

It's cheap and a lot of steps up. There is an exceptional view at the top but holy crap it is UP THERE. I always wonder when this rock is going to break off like the Miner's Castle. 😳

Well, for a dollar, thought, "why not?" The Rock itself, after a bit of a climb up some 173 steps was worth it, for the view (and bragging rights). Surprisingly the climb up was not too bad. There are benches for resting, if needed after...More

My wife and I stumbled upon Castle Rock quite by accident. We had finished visiting Saint Ignace and we were driving North to see the Sault Ste Marie Shipping Locks. We were preparing to turn onto the highway ramp leading to I-75 North, when my...More

We stopped here because we had been here many years before. For $1, you can climb 173 steep steps m but the view from the top is well worth it. Mackinaw Island, St Ignace and Lkae Superioir unfold before you. We even saw a freighter...More

It only cost $1.00 to climb the Castle Rock but the view is great!! the Castle Rock store had some interesting stuff to look at and buy.

The 120, or son steps were not too strenuous for the average healthy person. The cutouts in the woods were humorous. The view was great. The gift shop was nostalgic. Well worth the $1 admission.

$1 to climb stairs to get a view, if you take the road or of town, you can find a great lookout with the bridge in view, for free. (Head south, past the bridge exits, a couple miles)

Hubby always plans fun surprises along the way and this was one of them. You can climb to the top of Castle Rock and/or have your picture taken with a couple of fun dudes. ;)

This site is pet friendly assuming your dog will be ok climbing the several hundred steps required to get to the top. You must enter through the small gift shop and out the side to the steps. There are landings and benches along the climb...More

No there is not. However in the town of Saint Ignace you will probably find somewhere along the water a place to stop and have a picnic. very small town

You can see the top of the bridge towers, not the entire bridge.

Though I don't know for sure, I would say no only because you have to walk through the gift shop to access Castle Rock itself. I'd give them a call to be sure #906-643-8268.
