The Tower of History has Native American artifacts and 15 min video on the early history of Sault Ste. Marie, MI in the lower level. Express elevator up to a series of observation decks, one glass enclosed and 2 open aired levels for the 360 degree view of Sault Ste. Marie MI and Ontario plus the St. Mary's River System. Great place to view passing Freighters!

Having some time to kill in Sault Ste. Marie, we were just driving around and came upon this tower. Decided the views would be very interesting. But we were very surprised to see the history that was housed within the tower. Definitely an education of...More

This was our very first attraction of the vacation up at the soo, and it was definitely worth it! We didn't really go for the museum, but rather the views, and we were not dissapointed. They have both an inside and outdoor obversation deck, both...More

First we thought this was a detention center, then a HQ for the galactic empire. Turns out, it's a sparing museum with a mish-mosh local theme. Main attraction is the observation deck, atop a post-Soviet architecture that cost a fortune to build.

After taking the tour of the locks in Sault Ste. Marie, some visitors might want to know where they have been. The Tower of History is there to help. It's a 210-foot structure located just down the road from the two docks that host the...More

Not really about "history," the Tower of History is a tall tower (looks like the tallest in the area) that's really more of an observation tower. True, the views from the top can be spectacular, but I didn't feel the it was worth paying an...More

It is an observation platform. The facility could use some serious updating. I even thought twice about riding in the elevator-for safety reasons. The few exhibits they do have downstairs are disorganized and random. We stayed about 30 minutes.
