The beach was OK, but the water was still ice cold. Good for visiting with the family and have a picnic party over there. It's good that there is a parking space.

We stayed at the Retreat on Spider Lake, the place was amazing and we will certainly go back. I can only give Spider Lake 3 stars because we were there when it was cold and there wasn't much we could do to enjoy the outside. If it had been sunny or there had been ice on the lake, would have... More

This is the most beautiful lake close to Traverse City. About 10 minutes to the east side of town. Clean and sandy. Quiet hours in the morning and evening for kayakers and pontoon boats to cruise around in the quiet. Heavily wooded with a beautiful shoreline. Some parts are hilly so they have a steep walk to the lake though.

This is a great little lake, hard to find, unless you check it out on GPS or from the air. We drove out last fall, and meandered around the entire lake (almost...the road ends near the south side), and loved the relative seclusion, quiet and peacefullness

Took our entire family for as week and the lake was a highlight of the trip. Rented a pontoon boat food a day at a great rate. A but of a trek from the city, but very manageable.

My daughtert was visiting from Louisana with another couple and wanted to find a place near Traverse City. She went on-line and found a cabin to rent for 1/2 price. They stayed two days and felt the place was perfect for what they wanted. They did kayak and use the beach to relax. It was in a quite location .... More

All of Traverse is beautiful, but as a Real Estate sales person, I love the East side because it is full of natural beauty. We have no big box stores ,but plenty of water and tree's ! Spider Lake is a all sports lake just minutes from downtown Traverse City and all Grand Traverse area activities, yet you feel like... More

I live on Spider Lake and consider it one of the best lakes in the Grand Traverse area. It has 450 acres of spring fed crystal clear water and is deep enough for great boating, but shallow enough to get warm early in the season for swimming. Spider Lake is a very scenic lake, surrounded by woods. It has five... More

My father in law has a cottage by Spider Lake. One great thing about Spider Lake is that is is kind of shaped like a spider (of course- that is one reason why it is called that) so there are many hidden and quiet spots to hang out on this lake. The fishing on this lake is great. If there... More
