CAMPGROUND: Pedestrian Bridge between campground and beach. Bathrooms could use more attention. Beach is great.

As a camper at the campground, we were able to pick out our site in person, so we chose a site that was on a curve. It was great, very spacious. Although we were relatively... read more

Staff were very accomodating and sites were well kept -- clean. I was surprised at how many other "fall" campers joined us for the weekend. Gorgeous weekend -- great campfires.

I love nature, but because we are from MI, we HAVE to purchase a season ticket "good til March" $11 or you can't enter. Well we had driven that whole way so we did. You walk a short path to the lighthouse, but you pay more to enter, we went down to the beach..there is no beach. It's beautiful in... More

Quiet and pretty in the fall. We were able to go for a run with the dogs on the Tart Trail (right behind the park) then afterwards cross the pedestrian bridge and go for a dip in the lake. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Have stayed at this park for 10 years running. Unique for a Michigan State park, as it's actually right in town. Across the main street from the combination park/day use beach, but there is a walkway over the road and the beach is large enough to accommodate all. Surprisingly quiet given that it borders the main road M-72, especially in... More

We stay here when we can't get our time share exchanged on the east bay. The park is wonderful, the park employees go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Will continue to camp here whenever we can.

What a perfect location. It's close to town, but yet a relaxed rustic feeling. Then you have the beach right across the street and the bike trail next to the campground. The pedestrian walk over the road makes it so nice.

It's important to understand up front that Traverse City State Park is an urban campground, meaning that it's right in town. Given that there's so much to do in Traverse City and given the high cost of hotels in the area, this Park is both a bargain and a delight. The camp spots themselves are larger than we've typically experienced... More

As a camper at the campground, we were able to pick out our site in person, so we chose a site that was on a curve. It was great, very spacious. Although we were relatively close to the highway, I was surprised that the road noise was minimal. The bathrooms are very busy, of course, so it would be nice... More

I couldn't get over how clean this beach is. From the sand to the water. I have been all over the world, to many beaches. This beach, for me has it all. When I swim in this water I don't worry about sharks, sting rays, and jelly fish. This water is so clean. I will never go down south anymore.... More

First time camping here and didn't know what to expect. Blindly booked a site online. I was pleasantly surprised at the bathhouse. Also they have ice and wood for purchase. TART bike path is awesome, takes you across town and around the bay. Campsites are wooded, mostly shaded. There are some low ones though so if you tent, be careful.... More
