This is a small, charming historical village with buildings that depict segments of local history. Buildings and grounds are well kept. There are few interpreters, so tour are basically self-led. There are also several special events which are worthwhile to seek out if in the area. This is a great venue for small children too--it is educational without being overwhelming.... More

Though the tour is largely self-guided, you might run into staff on the grounds and, of course, in the main building. They'll be happy to answer questions about the buildings and their uses. For example, the one-room school was, unbelievably, in service until the 1970s. They can relate more history of the building including what uses they had for it... More

We were there for a wedding celebration and the place was absolutely perfect for it. Aside from the tents and all the wedding decorations, I enjoyed walking through the historic village and soaking in the atmosphere of the place. It truly felt like a great place to have a wedding with all that history in the place

Troy historical museum is a collection of old Troy buildings from way back all arranged in a circle around a small pavilion. I went as a chaperone with middle school kids, so we had a guided tour which I can believe is the only good way to see this place.

This is a GREAT place to take kids to see Santa! Small intimate atmosphere. Great looking Santa. Avoid those long lines at the mall and come here. This is like a mini Greenfield Village right in the heart of Troy.

Have been here many times with my Girl Scouts. The Village offers great programs that we have really enjoyed. It is also fun to walk around and discover the historical jewels here!

Prior to school starting - I was taking care of my 6 yr.old grandson and took him to the Troy Museum and Historic Village. What a great time and educational as well. He played the game of finding the items in the village and had fun learning and doing something.

I visited the village during December when they have it all decorated for the holidays. There is an authentic log cabin, a printing press office, blacksmith shop, old church building, minister's home with authentic decor from the late 1800's, and a number of other historic building and reenactments. There is a shop onsite where you can buy related gifts. You... More

I had friends that were married here. They were able to rent out the chapel and then after the ceremony we were able to tour all the buildings. This was a neat way to kill time between the ceremony and the reception. It was beautiful on the grounds and would be great for a wedding. They have a gazebo in... More

I was a chaperone for my grandson's class trip to the Troy Historical Museum. Attendants were in costume and "in character". The children loved learning about life prior to the 1900s. In today's tech media obsessed world, it was refreshing to see how the children embraced the hard rules and discipline of a by-gone year. They children said they loved... More
