Have lived here almost 30 years and have never been inside the park building. Richard was working that day and he had an extreme amount of background history regarding the park. We were there for almost 2 hours and enjoyed every minute. Lots of documents, pictures, tools and other historical items. Would recommend the Crosby Mine Historical Park to everyone.

Had some spare time on a Mountain bike weekend when it rained a bit. Only open on weekends so we made best of the opportunity. Saw some cool photos and mining gear in a warehouse the the guide offered to take us thru a mining exhibit. The guy has been there 21 years and really knew mining info. Well worth... More

The first time I visited here, the tour guide was knowledgeable about the tragic day the lake flooded the mine, and told animated stories about the workers. The next time I brought my kids. Unfortunately, the guide was hohum. Your visit here relies greatly on your previous knowledge of what happened at this mine and the enthusiasim of your guide.

Great piece of history - Bring the kids. Located in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes area. A great area to visit all year round.

The grounds of the museum are beautiful and the entrance shares a parking lot with the bike paths so you can take a break when you're riding. There are vault toilets here but no modern facilities. There are some interpretive signs outside but do yourself a favor and head in the buildings. Don't let the darkness intimidate you - ask... More

The industrial remains of the Croft iron mine were very interesting. The site is in need of investment to revive the museum exhibits and re-open the gift shop. The staff person was very knowledgeable.
