Came here in September, so we were just walking the beach and not intending to swim as it was obviously too cold. But it was a nice decent size beach that would be great in mid summer, but still a nice walk in Sept.

Clean Sandy Beach. Water temp 65°F. Sunny between thunderstorms. No jellyfish. No sharks. Friendly visitors. Watch sea plane take off from nearby Sky Harbor Airport.

I know they were smelting there as of 2014......but it does seem better around Lester River and other rivers up the North Shore.

You can see the Tall Ships come in off the big lake on any city hilltop. A good place to watch is Enger Tower garden area! Great view, and great setting around the hillsides. To see them up close, down in the harbor... More
