Read about Fergus Falls in the Minnesota Tourism brochure and since we were driving by anyway, we made the detour. The downtown is a few minutes drive off the highway and when we got there, while it has the structural bones of a quaint old downtown, we found little to entice us to walk the street with several vacant storefronts... Lundeens has anything you could need for office supplies but also books and clothes as well as home decor. Biffleys is the nicest used book store I have ever been... More

There's a good assortment of commerce here, including some neat original storefronts from the 60s. Unfortunately, most places were closed down by 4:00pm on Saturday, including coffee shops. The good thing is that there aren't any chain stores here, which means the store owners are probably home enjoying their Saturdays instead of working.
