About
Forestedge Winery produces premium fruit wines in northern Minnesota. Our wines are produced from many of the fruits that thrive in our northern climate. The winery began in 1999 and has won numerous international awards for its wines. Stop by the winery and try some at our onsite tasting room. Afterward enjoy a glass on the cobblestone patio or check out our Gallery featuring works of regional artists. Our Art Fair at the Winery is held the 3rd weekend in August featuring 30+ regional artists. Our wines include Black Currant, Rhubarb, White Cranberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Apple and more.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun little winery, but they don't have grapes. They do have rhubarb. We enjoyed the time to relax with a flight of semi-sweet and another of sweet wines to share. No inside restrooms.

Forestedge is a non-grape winery. They ferment various types of fruits to create their version of wine. None of the wines have traditional styles since they do not meet the criteria to be called Cabernet, Merlot, pinot noir, chardonnay and so on. Instead, Forestedge classifies their wines into dry, semi-dry, semi sweet and sweet.

I was very interested when we started out, but I found all the wines to be young and not very complex. Most of them were more sweet than I would have liked even the dry and semi-dry wines.

The physical layout of this winery is fantastic. It has a farm vibe with barn-red buildings, gardens and chicken pens. The restroom is a blue porta-potty otherwise known as "Big Blue". The employees working here are five star. They are engaged, happy and really helpful.

No outside food is allowed. They sell heavy snacks including cheese, sausage and charcuterie boards.

We stopped at Forestedge Winery to check it out and are so happy we did. We did the wine tasting as a group and were not disappointed. All of the wines are made from various fruits, not grapes. Each wine is so unique. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. The location of the winery is quaint and charming. Say hi to the chickens on your way from the parking lot to the store. Enjoy the countryside while enjoying a fresh glass of wine on the patio. A small gift shop with unique jewelry and gifts was also fun to go through. It was a nice little day trip.

Very busy place on Labor Day weekend!
The flowers outdoors are so pretty and we enjoyed a glass of wine and pretzels on the patio.

The staff is attentive and there is a great selection of wines for sale.

Such a beautiful, peaceful setting!!!

We had an enjoyable stop here at the winery. We had a glass of wine in their pleasant patio area. Also visited their art gallery here. Pleasant staff.

We drove here on a Tuesday afternoon for something to do on an overcast day. Such a pleasant surprise. Ashley was our host for the tasting and she was delightful and knowledgeable. The cost is $5/person for 7 tastes. They have wines ranging from dry to sweet. My hubby and I tried different wines so we could taste more varieties.

After our tasting, we took a glass each of our favorite wine out to the patio and enjoyed the quiet. And...We left with 4 bottles to savor at home. A great way to spend an afternoon. We wish a local restaurant would do a food and wine pairing with them. It would be a win all around.

I've purchased ForestEdge Wines for years. Now that live closer to them, I've been able to visit. It was amazing to learn that all of there wines are made with Minnesota grown fruits and berries. I had had their wines shipped to me many times when we lived farther away. and now find that our local liquor store carries a few of their many varieties...I'm asking them to add more. My favorites are the rhubarb and the blueberry wines.

I stopped here on my way to Itasca State Park and my search for the Great River Road!! Partook in their fruit filled wines tasting and was glad that I did!! Purchased a few of my favorites to share with family and friends!! Owners were very knowledgeable of their products and a delight to talk with...Found campgrounds full at Itasca and the immediate surrounding area so I returned back to the winery and took advantage of their Harvest Host (free camping) hospitality!! Will definitely return!!!
