The Blue Earth County History Center includes a Gift Shop, Marian Anderson Art Gallery, Research Center and Museum. The Museum features hands-on history fun in the Discovery Lab, diorama of 1880s Mankato, treasures from local author Maud Hart Lovelace and interactive Pioneer Cabin and Barn. Admission charged. Really helpful staff!! $5.00 fee is only if you visit upstair exhibits or use nice research room- great for family or area history!! Or pay a $35.00 membership and no more $5.00 fee. Great exhibit on MSU right now!!

I visited the research center a couple of times, I didn't visit the museum. The center was roomy, the staff member was helpful, and the self-serve snack bar was a God-send, keeps you from starving when you have limited time at the research center.

This is a great place to do research for Blue Earth County. I found them to be very helpful in showing me where the look for the records, and answering any questions I had. There is also a research area where you can work, also.

They take their local history seriously. Just expanded the building and there are more renovations coming. But what they have now will definitely fill any gaps you have about Blue Earth history
