We go to this museum whenever we get the chance. It's great to walk through in-depth, or just run through your favorite areas if you only have a little bit of time. The period rooms give a unique view of art and history. I especially love the Japanese area, and the Impressionist area.

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is a wonderful museum - from their complete period rooms to special exhibits such as the recent one on Martin Luther. We visit several times each year. While there, try for rush tickets at Children's Theater. Every play is well produced.

Very nice museum in a great location/uptown Minneapolis. Great during the summer too. They change the artifacts from time to time. Very educational and peaceful place.

My most recent visit was to see the exhibit Martin Luther and the Art of the Reformation. I go to Mia multiple times a year and it never disappoints. The permanent collections are fantastic and the building itself is fun to explore and has great history. Mia showcases Minneapolis' commitment to the arts and it is a great way to... More

Wide variety of art is displayed. Special exhibits are very well done. Recently had a guided tour of the exhibit Martin Luther: Art and the Reformation with a Homeschool group. I was quite pleased with our guide and the exhibit. Would highly recommend this museum.

A great place to go during Minnesota dreary winter. The Art in Bloomin the spring always is inspiring.

MIA is always a treat! It's Asian collection and the Period rooms are wonderful. The Architecture collection is not extensive, but what is there is great. The only disappointment in the Native American collection... Lovely ceramic collection, but absolutely nothing Mimbres! Specialty revolving exhibits are always top notch!

It's a subdued way to spend time with friends or family enjoying a variety of art. Younger children enjoyed the knights and swords. It's low key but impressive.
