Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We use to drive here every month (100 mi)for forty years. place is no longer comfortable and most of the businesses have move out. We were there a couple of weeks ago and wouldn't recommend walking in this area.... SAD!

Such fun to see this statue. Make sure to stop by the Made In Minneapolis shop. Beautiful crafts for sale.

Bit spoilt as it was Superbowl so there was lots to do. But the Avenue has lots of shops and eateries to choose from. I like the way Mary Tyler Moore was given a makeover almost every day with new hats and gloves being left on her to keep her warm. It was such fun all the way, dog sleighs, skiers, skidoos, interactive football, warming houses and heated seating. Minneapolis you did it very well. Thank you

We strolled along Nicollett Avenue last week and enjoyed it very much! The Skyway was astounding, and we were able to photograph a few of the pedestrian footbridges. The city wasn't loud like other cities; there was not much traffic. It seemed more like a big town, rather than a city. My husband and I rode the blue line (light rail) from Mall of America to Nicollet Mall Station, which puts you in the heart of Minneapolis. The city is getting ready to host the 2018 Super Bowl! Awesome! We walked over to the Visitor Center and, they were so friendly and helpful. The Transit Station is very convenient; we took the green line out to Saint Paul. We're sure Nicollett Avenue will be full of people in February!

Nicollet Avenue has more that one attraction, but the part of it that I was rating was "Eat Street", the area between abut 24th Street and 29th Street, which is heavily populated with ethnic restaurants, most of which are very good. Quang, the Penninsula, Christos and many others are along this street and one can find food from many cultures. Close to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and a short bus or cab ride from Minneapolis Convention Center.

This street has recently been redone and it's probably more desirable for the younger generations. I remember it from years back when there were stores like Dayton's, Donaldson's, Rush's and we attended the Holidazzle Parade every year. Those stores and the parade are sadly long gone. Nicollet is not what it once was. We checked out the Mary Tyler Moore statue as we had grown up watching the show. It's a bit unremarkable but we tossed our hats anyways. The mall is a 12 block portion of the Avenue and has many restaurants and shops to check out.

The street has been torn up for what seems like years now. There used to be a nice little farmers market and lots of stores but everything is moving out because of Minneapolis's crazy ideas. The street is essentially shut down with nothing to do, stores to shop or places to eat. Minneapolis leaders are killing this once iconic strip

I read online that the Mary Tyler Moore statue had been moved inside the visitor's center during the construction, so I had no problems finding her! Yes, this was the only reason I went there, BUT everyone who worked at the visitor's center was super nice. There was one gentleman (I wish I remembered his name) who was so helpful recommending local places to eat and visit. He even gave me a map of the city and circled places he recommended. There is a hat near the Mary Tyler Moore statue that you can use for pictures, but I had brought my own (I'm prepared). :) Sadly they don't sell any Mary Tyler Moore merchandise (TV Land won't give them permission to) but they do sell some great Minneapolis souvenirs, including a lot of Prince items.

This is a long street of restaurants and access to some shops. Many of the restaurants are quite nice and have outdoor seating. The last time we walked here, there was a lot of construction, dug up areas that were dirt, and it was quite difficult to get around.

There is so much construction going on downtown to prepare Minneapolis for the Super Bowl, that we got lost several times trying to find Mary! She is at 505 Nicolett Avenue inside the Visitor Center. They have a hat for you to toss in the air along side of her. We like to try to find the unique statues for the area - and it's just a challenge/scavenger hunt for us - hence an average rating. We even got a Minneapolis cop to walk several blocks with us to find her!
