Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The University of Minnesota Recreation Center offers everything students and faculty could possibly need. This was my first visit for the purpose of volunteering at USA Swimming Junior National Championship.
Parking can be a challenge for visitors. There is a nearby parking garage and very limited surface spaces. The area around the pool was clean.
The building although dated to possibly the 70's is in great condition. The majority of the facility is the competition pool used by the University of Minnesota Swim team. The facility is nicely maintained. However, faculty and students can use the pool.
The Olympic size competition pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition..
The spectator area is expansive and spans the entire length of both sides of the pool and well. The public locker room area is large and pretty clean. There were two malfunctioning items.
Great facility and hope to return for another event in the near future.

Was in town for business, and the hotel was on campus- and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it! Gorgeous, clean campus with lots to do. I hate to say it, but it's nicer than the Big 10 campus in my town!

We toured the campus in November when there was a small amount of snow on the ground. The campus is very walkable and easy to get around. Beautiful buildings!

A great place to see the local landscape / geography. The East Bank (campus - older- is seperated from Th East Bank campus by the Mighty Mississippi. The West Bank is new, modern and contempory. Where the 60's 'Hippies" and anti-war movement planted roots. Neighborhood is still very Boheimian, expcet fo modern university buildings. Home of vast and vaired ethnic restaurants and shops. Home to the Music and Performance Art Schools. *Great perormance opportunities at CHEAP $! Especially during the summer, 10 day Twin Cities Fringe Festival. 100's of venues and performace opportunity for cheap. Avante-gaurd to comody to serious drama... and all sourounded by great pre or post theatre restaurants. Mostlycasual, and very affordible.
Large East Banks is decidedly more traditional architecture...escept for the VERY modern Wiesman Museum. Worth a visit!
The Eat bank is the center for on and off campus housing. The large Asian student population brings with it wonderful, affordable Asian and S.E. Asian restaurants...all on the cheap!
Take a walk accross the inter campus bridge (about 1 mile) high above the Mississippi for spectacular vistas, or walk along West River Drive... on bluffs high above the river.
Spend a few hours, or many.

We walked the whole campus. It has the feel of an old school which is cool. It’s high on a bluff above the river and offers great views. There is plenty of green space. A very nice campus.

I stayed at The Graduate Hotel, and strolled along the entire grounds of the university-- loved it. Enjoyed the great historic, architectural buildings.

I stayed in spring, having really nice weather most of the time. The university campus is great, directly on the Mississippi river with lots of places of interest. For visiting and looking at the architecture of the buildings, spring and summer may be a good time but the whole campus has a very calm and cozy atmosphere that I would wish coming back in winter when there is snow...

University of Minnesota campus is a perfect reflexion of the the city. It is spacious, convenient, and inviting. Perfect landscaping sets a beautiful backdrop for the wide variety of building styles that magically tie together into a most beautiful campus I've seen. There's no clash of styles, they seem to add to each other. I fell in love with so many buildings that it's hard to single out one. There's enough of seating places to take a brief respite if you need to. Campus is not large, but there's a free bus circulating to help get around too.

I visited the campus for my daughter's orientation. It was a great experience. The information received was valuable and helpful. The organizers cover almost all of the important issues that are of concern to parents and in the end we were treated to a tour to get better acquainted with the campus. I fell very happy and secure that my child will receive the best education possible, will be offered many opportunities to expand her horizons and I can not say enough for the staff in the advising office. They took a genuine interest on my daughter's case, being an international transfer student and they guide her every step of the way in order for her to achieve her dreams! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

I stayed in a AirBnB accommodation in Dinky Town for about 20 days. That was the lowest priced stay I have ever had in all these 4 years of my visits to UoM. The Commons is the best ,of course if price is not an issue... Hope this helps!
