Calhoun is a great place to walk and people watch. The atmosphere enables one to be in the city but enjoy a lakeside experience.

I didn't pay anything. As everyone has mentioned, free to walk, picnic in the lawn etc. I didn't pay for my street parking.

I'm not sure about the infant seats...but they have bike rentals, its paved.

I believe there are kayaks at Lake Calhoun. You can check the Minneapolis Park aboard site for the fee structure but I recall seeing them there.
