I walk around Lake Harriet all the time. It's a great place to run or bicycle too. Summer time you can rent canoes or kayaks. People fish and go sailing. There are 2 beaches. Playground and picnic tables. A restaurant right on the north side of Lake (open in the summer). Concerts in the summer at the band shelter. Beautiful... More

Have enjoyed a couple of long walks with family members this summer and fall weekends. When the weather is nice be prepared for the crowds; everyone is well-behaved, but finding parking is a challenge and the walking path is wall to wall people. Stunning homes are across the street on the Southwest portion of the lake. Concerts held at the... More

The paths around Lake Harriet are well used by cyclists, walkers, runners and everyday folks. We really enjoy getting our grandsons out there to see the routine fun they have while enjoying the great outdoors! The Trolley is one of their favorite pastimes.

Lake Harriet is a nice lake with several beaches and is surrounded by beautiful, million-dollar homes. Is is frequented by the fitness-focused city-dwellers of Minneapolis, as well as many dog walkers. Expect this place to be fairly bustling with people on a nice day. Those days will make parking a bit of a chore as well.

We Really loved taking the Metro Bikes around the lake (It was longer and colder than expected, but that's not a huge deal). The lake is gorgeous and the trees make it harder to see the crazy expensive houses around it, but they also make it harder to see the lake from the biking/jogging trails.

Lake Harriet is an area attraction for a variety of activities. The path(s) around the lake are used for biking, running and walking. There are occasional sail boat events on the water. The band shell offers great entertainment throughout the summer. The Bread and Pickle offers good eats and treats. The park to the north is great for picnics. And... More

A great lake to walk around or spend time at a free concert at the band shell. Good food at the concessions. Always like a trip to the lake.

Had a lovely walk, lots of people out and about. Colors just about to change; a few in waders fishing along the edge, a few in boats. A trolley that goes round the edge of the lakes. Very nice way to while away an hour or two.

Harriet is just terrific for a great walk. It's easy, you can always find on-street parking, and it feels safe. I love the dual paths around the city lakes (feet on one path going both ways, and one-way wheel path the other) and it's great that the dog walkers are so attentive to picking up after their pooches leave presents...
