We visited on a weekend in early October so the seasonal special tractor parade events were over and much of the tractors were already stored for the winter. Since we couldn't walk far, we skipped the indoor museum this time but drove around the grounds looking at the old farmstead, the little log cabin -- even the inside! -- and... More

If you're looking for something to do that's educational too, visit this museum. The price wasn't too bad, though the tour is self-guided. Volume of display items was a little thin and sometimes did not have direct connection to Olmsted County. It would be great if someone went through all the display signs and corrected occasional typos and grammar issues.... More

We came here for the Day of Yesteryear event, where we not only were able to enjoy the historic buildings, we were also treated to the tractor parade which had an announcer who seemed to know every little detail about each tractor. There were also antique cars, forgotten farm machinery, harvesting demonstrations and a working sawmill. An escape from the... More

The History Center Library has a wealth of info for anyone looking for relatives from long ago. Staff were incredibly helpful and really excited in helping us search our early settlers to the area. The online database is also very helpful in finding relatives. Thanks!

Loved visiting during Days of Yesteryear in August. Everything open for exploring. Lots to do, lots of history, cool vintage base ball. Very family friendly.

The outdoor history park is just a little ways west of the downtown. We took in the "Days of Yesteryear" events on Sunday, August 9th. Wonderful displays, living history in the preserved one room schoolhouse, broom making, tractor pull, on and on. This is a once a year event - BUT - check the calendar. If there is is an... More

I attended to see the stock class tractor pulls. This was a good time where a lot so different activities are going on all day long from steam engine tractors hooked up to old time belt driven saw mills, old thrashers in action and much more. A good time for kids and adults alike where you can visit the past... More

I really appreciate the time and effort that this history center has put into their exhibits. Local history is something that not enough people appreciate, and this is a great place to go to step into the past and learn some fascinating information. Highly recommend a visit!
