The food is great, and a lot of it comes on stick, my favorite place is the corn on the cob place, fresh out of the fields and fresh off the grill dipped in butter and salted and ready to eat. Sweet Martha's cookies are on the list of eats as well. Get a bucket of cookies for the family... More

This state fair has had the highest attendance for years years. It is quite a big deal around these parts. Much too crowded and busy for me. But it is an awesome experience. I've been a few times over the years - I've been visiting this area regularly for 40 years - but moved here July 2015. This is not... More

Nothing special. Crowded, hot, small, expensive with parking charges that are equivalent of highway robbery. It's a typical state fair kind of a deal.

Hello: I'm sorry that your experience at the Minnesota State Fair did not meet your expectations. 2016 was a year of record attendance, so it was a bit more crowded than years past. If you decide to visit us again, I'd encourage you to come on a weekday, especially in the morning and early afternoon, when it is less crowded.... More

I am from WI and thought our WI State Fair was very good. Would go every year. But MN State Fair out does any fair I've ever been too. Large, Clean, with so much more to do, the exhibits are spread out in a larger venue with floors of exhibitors to look through. The barns were huge Will be going... More

The Minnesota State Fair is unique in its balance of city & country. Like most county and state fairs, there's plenty of great rural and agricultural exhibits - farm machinery, baby animals, animal judging and exhibitions, honey harvesting, dairy enterprise, etc. What's unusual is that the city location means there are spectacular performances of many kinds of performing arts, there's... For 12 days in late August/early September this is the place to be in Minnesota. It's an awesome place to people watch and eat all sorts of food. There are also craft exhibits, animals barns, concerts, and a midway. Something for everyone.

This place has lots of stuff in forms of entertainment, food, and other. However, there are so many people here that it's extremely hard to navigate and it's not a place to go if you have tight time. You literally can't see 10ft in front of you because of the overcrowding. The best part was the famous Martha's cookies. Delicious!!... More

Thanks for visiting us - we regret that the crowds prevented you from fully enjoying your day. If you'd like to return, we recommend coming during the day on a weekday, when far fewer people attend. Some of my favorite times to visit are when it's rainy - the crowds are less, and there's still plenty to do, see and... More
