Love this library, was always the bigger one in town. Went there as a kid for puppet shows, great place for kids, especially on a Saturday morning. Must see if you like the library.

If you yearn to find yourself in a peaceful, naturally cool, historic library full of real books, this is the place. It is ocated in downtown Saint Paul right across from Rice Park, Landmark Center and the St. Paul Hotel to name but a few buildings a stone's throw away. This part of Saint Paul is charming and romantic. I... More

. A grand library with excellent children/youth area, Computers available for one hour to the public, and varied collections. The East portion of the building contains the Hill Reference Library, a stunning space and business collection. On the skyway system via tunnel.

I can't really say enough about the St. Paul library system. I have been a card holder for over 60 years. The library consistently adapts to new constituents and technologies; different programs from childhood thru advanced ages. Computer checkout and return may have a few minor issues; but overall works extremely well. The website can be a little confusing; but... More

I went to the library to warm up and to rest after some sightseeing. There was free wi-fi and washroom facilities in the library. Current newspapers and magazines were available for reading. There was an informative display on F. Scott Fitzgerald who was born in St. Paul. I had enjoyed my visit to the Saint Paul Public Library.

This is quite the library building. The James J. Hill reference library is interesting to see too. I have great memories of watching the puppet shows in the children's book section when I was a kid. The only library that I have seen that is better than the downtown St. Paul Library is the Library of Congress.

You will feel like you have been transported back in time when you visit the Central library in downtown Saint Paul. Climb the marble staircase for a stunning view of the Missisippi. The F. Scott Fitzgerald alcove is a must-see for literature fans.
