This is one of my favorite places in St. Paul! Especially in the winter when I'm chilled to the bone and my nose is stressed out from lack of humidity. When my kids where babies I came here often to stimulate their neurotransmitters with the color, light, smells, water trickling, warm air and the sensation of being in the garden... More

It never disappoints. At least once or twice a winter I head over for a dose of the tropics. Warm and fragrant. With just a small donation, for an hour or so you can almost forget the cold dry tundra outside. Florida without a sunburn or spring breakers.

We visited the Conservatory. It reminded me of the Mitchell Street Domes in Milwaukee. Beautiful foliage---probably would have seen more had it been Spring/Summer as the Japanese Gardens were not open. We peeked into the orchid house through a door, but this area was not open to visitors. Beautifully done. The outside grounds were beautiful as well. There is a... More

I've been here with infants to 99 year olds and everyone seems to find something they enjoy. The Chipotle garden is awesome, and it's even more fun when you catch them there teaching kids how to make their guacamole. It's a great place to spend a full day or just for a stroll.

We enjoyed a Beautiful Japanese Garden and Butterfly Exhibit. However, the zoo is not anything like I remembered as a child. The animal holdings are very small and cramped looking that the animals almost looked sad to be there. We waited for 2 hours to see the seal show that was unfortunately cancelled. Since the food prices were a bit... More

Recently went to Zoo, Conservancy and a walk around Lake Como. All easily accessible and fun to do during a mild winter day. The smallish Zoo is very nice for young and old since the animals are so close and nicely cared for. The Conservatory is really great to enjoy the warm and somewhat humid environment and evokes a sense... More

Want an enriching experience? Head to Como Zoo! It's a great place for families & a nice place to escape the winter blues due to all the magnificent flowers & tropical plants throughout. The animals are unique & interactive. It's hours of fun for all! Did I mention it is a free facility, but they are always accepting donations.

Coming here in February is not the optimal time to be at the zoo and we arrived only 1/2 hour before closing. But the entrance is donation based, so worth it for a short visit. We saw the polar bear and giraffes (momma and baby appropriately named Prince). Grounds are pretty. Didn't get to the conservatory but will be back... More

This "Zoo" is incredibly sad. We came here with friends from out of state. I was personally appalled at the condition of most of the animal enclosures. A snow leopard was in a room small enough to only take 6 steps across. The polar bears were pacing and swaying their heads in clear signs of distress and discomfort. There were... More

Great place to come in winter - smells so good and it's so warm! Very pretty. Easy parking. Suggested donation is $3 so bring some singles
