Wonderful hike up to the Upper .falls with the snow coming down . It had snowed quite a bit the night before but the trail was already plowed.

Been to Gooseberry Falls State Park more times than I can count. They have a nice, free parking area located a short distance from the visitor's center and 3 falls (upper, mid, and lower). The parking lot does get full on holidays or on weekends during the summer, though. If you're in for a hike, there's another falls up the... More

Highly recommend visiting Gooseberry falls in the winter. Took the Gitchi Gami trail overlooking Lake Superior.

We visited Middle Falls in October, right as the leaves were changing, which made for beautiful sights everywhere you looked. Middle Falls is fairly accessible if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues. You can take a paved path that looks down from above the falls or else a short walk to a level view of Middle Falls,... More

I love Goosebury park. I've been here twice and hope to go back again and again. It's a nice outdoorsy area, with good walking, easy hiking. If you're physically able, you can walk to the other side of the falls and hike up the path. It's a nice view and walk. There's also other areas you can walk around, but... More

We visit Gooseberry every few years. We love hiking from the falls out to Lake Superior and back. We often go in the spring when the trails are still a little snowy and there are fewer tourists. This is a very popular spot and in the summer there will be quite a few people around. If you are in the... More

This is a very lovely park with scenic waterfalls and a nice visitors center. Trail to both the upper and lower falls are easily accessible and the west side of 61 also has some nice trails back in the woods. Make no mistake though, this is the Disney World of the north shore parks. Sunny summer and fall days will... More

This was a great state park- lots of trails from easy to challenging. It was pretty busy when we were there but there is plenty of room to spread out, especially if you go on the less traveled trails, which are beautiful. We were really glad we went.
