13 relatives from far away places like Georgia, California, Colorado, Wyoming and Minnesota gathered to celebrate a 90th birthday. The Island View Golf Club is on the land of the original family farm where the parents and in-laws of our group had been born. Beside the nostalgia, the IVGC has a decent restaurant and a up to snuff bar. There is a private room with a TV and the proper equipment to show videos. We were well taken care of by the staff. Hors d'oeures were brought out to our table which had a wonderful view of the nearby lake. We had sufficient time to visit with cousins whom we had not seen in years. For the meal, each of us ordered off of the menu which was well balanced in its offerings, I found the Brisket Flat Bread to be good and my wife enjoyed a large helping of Steak Tips. Located overlooking the putting green, Island View Dining serves up an extensive menu. I like the vege stir-fry and all the salads I have tried. Many are so large I've had to bring some home. Wednesday is reduced price chicken wing night. I think they're over cooked. They have a nice variety of sauces for them. The bar has a large selection of beer, and they pour good mixed drinks. There is a side room that seats about 30 that can be reserved for functions. The banquet room can hold up to 190 for weddings, etc. If there's a large function going on the service in the dining room gets slower as there's only one kitchen. Otherwise, I haven't had a bad meal there in seven years, except for the overcooked wings.…
