Not the easiest place to find ( behind the Nursing building on the left looks like a circle of weeds ) If you are native American or intersested in native plants you will find this interesting. All plants are labeled with the tribe and what it was used for.

A bit hard to find with some construction on campus, but worth it if you're interested in Native American Indians.

We walked through this garden as we strolled the grounds of the university. There is a large variety of plants, some which I have never heard of before. The Native American symbols and art pieces were very interesting. This is a very small garden in the midst of the campus, took a short time to get through it.

The Medicine Wheel Garden on the University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus is a space for plant life, spiritual renewal and learning. Nice place to stop and stretch if on a tight schedule

This is an interesting and lovely little garden; nice place to stop and stretch if on a tight schedule. A little off the beaten path, which makes it even better, IMHO! We love gardens and look for ones like this.

Tucked away in a secluded spot on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg is a tiny oasis featuring native plants used in herbal recipes and remedies. Begun by Native American Tammy Greer (a Psych professor) and the GEIS group, this has become a "project" of the entire university, including some of the fraternities and sororities and... More
