This amazing tree was just a sapling when Columbus arrived in the new world. It has survived countless hurricanes including Katrina and its massive branches spread out and rest on the ground. It is a beautiful sight.

University of So. Mississippi is the home of this large tree. It is out front and easy to see and explore. Before Katrina, my kids climbed all over it. They do not let anyone climb on it now. Go see a legend. Its worth it....More
This tree is on the University grounds and easy to spot right off the main entrance. As mentioned before, parking isn't convenient but we could easily park about half a block down and walk up to the tree. It's very majestic!
