Amid the ever bustling "community" of the Ole Miss Campus is this "sacred" and reverential little cemetery. Sobering to know soldiers die to fight for causes either THEY believe in or their country believes in.....the ultimate sacrifice.....to give one's life for his/her country. Pause. Spend a few minutes.

There is not much to see except for the memorial monument in this simple cemetery right smack in the middle of campus but to remember those who fell (whether you agree w/ their side or not) is important and worth taking a few minutes of your time.

On our first trip to Oxford we visited the campus of Ole Miss and by chance saw drove past the cemetery. Understanding the historical significance of the cemetery we stopped and walked through the grounds, just being there, looking over all of the grave sites was s very profound and humbling moment for us. Maybe not for everyone but I would... More

The marker is really all that suggests this area to be a cemetery. Still the feeling of walking on hallowed ground was present, and the marker gives interesting facts.

Just what you would expect! Well taken care of with a Monument with the names of the known deaths of soldiers there.

This is an old civil war graveyard where soldiers from both sides were buried. It's an old site in the middle of the Ole Miss campus. There's not much to see here except one large stone monument. If you are on campus it is worth a look but I would not call it a destination site.

This is a great place to bring someone, especially young kids, to show them a part of history. It's on campus and easy to get to.

This is very hallowed ground... a must visit while on U of M. For sure... nearby and a great location for a picnic... also it is very near the "doorknob of the world"... many students like to stand at the bottom of the water tank with their back to the stem and look up... very interesting experience at night.

Great walk through history. Several historical figures buried here. (Including my grandparents) Faulkner buried here. Worth the stop to if love geocaching.
