Interesting stop in Jackson while on the Trace. Here you can see art and artisans come together to learn about their craft and wares. Good place to stop and stretch and learn.

I enjoyed my visit to the MS Crafts Center, but frankly, based on the reviews I was picturing a much bigger center. The building itself IS very large, but the area where art is available for purchase is not tiny, but (in my opinion) is not proportionate to the building size. The place is a wonderland of hand made objects. Every piece is beautiful from pottery to glass to fabric art. I have purchased many gifts from the Missisaippi Craft Center. Each gift was unique. This is not like your average co op handcrafted pieces. Each is a work of art. Even if I am not purchasing a gift, I go... More

This is a wonderful facility that showcases crafts of local artists. There are samples of pottery, jewelry, wood carvings, scarves, quilts, and much more. We were told that they have contributions from 400 juried artists so there is something for everyone to see and buy. They have classes in several art venues.

We had been wanting to visit this place, but never had the time. We showed up on a Saturday and toured the gift shop. I think every meduium was represented from the South.
