A lovely find, great choice of wines, many by the glass! Very friendly. Will return! Also on the bus route from derby to belper, super handy!

Very busy buzzing Friday night in Bradmans, good job that we had reserved a table to enjoy a few drinks before going for dinner.

Visited here on a trip away - it was quiet upon arrival so we were seated straight away, the decor is nice and comfortable and the waitress was friendly. Unfortunately it was the wine that let the place down.
We ordered a Malbec for £28 which was one of the more mid range bottles on offer. When it arrived, it had already been opened and we were very shocked to see it was a screw top wine which is normally the case for cheaper bottles.
The wine tasted awful. Very harsh and not what you’d expect for a £28 bottle.
I had a couple of sips and my friend had one small glass - we made it known that we could not pay for the bottle as it was not possible to drink that volume. We were charged for two small glasses which is more than we had but grateful to not have to pay for the entire bottle.
We see that the wine retails for £7.99 normally so this is a huge markup on a cheap product and the taste showed that it was not worth the price.

We went in to share a bottle of wine, we ordered an Argentinian Malbec for £28. When the waitress brought it to the table, it was already open which we found unusual, and were surprised to see it was a twist cap bottle at that price. The waitress left us and we tried the wine, and instantly thought it was a bad choice, we googled the wine and found it was £7.99 from many retailers. I understand they have to make a profit, but just under 4 x original cost seems a bit much and puts you off returning.

Warm and friendly greeting with that all important smile from the staff what a great start. It is table service only with a fabulous range of wines to choose from so make your choice then sit outside and enjoy whilst watching the world go by.

It’s Friday afternoon and we arrive for a glass of wine. Tom is a great host and the nibbles are an extra bonus! The atmosphere is lovely as we sit outside and enjoy the late sunshine. We look forward to returning.

Had my surprise 50th birthday here and the staff including the owner where just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. All of them so friendly and polite. Every time we go in nothing is too much trouble. Service, 2nd to none. Quite a few business need to take a leaf out of there book. Well done and keep it going, it’s a breath of fresh air.

Gary was excellent and the rest of the staff were good too. Request for music taken and drinks were amazing. Must visit place if you’re in Matlock!

I had been meaning to visit since its opening and finally got chance last night. I was totally not sure what to expect but wow, have they got the recipie right there. The village has been crying out for a joint like this for years and I am so happy that John and the team are the guys behind it and are really doing a great job.
Firstly they have a robust, extensive and varied wine selection backed up with the knowledge behind it. The building is perfect, intimate and appealing. The staff are attentive and all current strict measures are well edhered too. As a result the atmosphere was mega. Note. thats really hard to achieve in todays Covid times. Top notch and back for more of that Zinfandel ASAP!
