You can spend hours here, walking around getting lost or just sitting with a book overlooking the flash on the wooden steps by the canal. I've been with the kids, a friend and just on my own numerous times and even if Pennington Flash isn't on your doorstep, I would recommend visiting.

Such a beautiful park on my doorstep. If you like long walks, watching the world go by and seeing lots of wildlife this is the place to go. A large country park where you can take your dogs, let the kids run for miles and enjoy a family day out. Along side the park is the east lancs (I think)... More

I've been a few times before but today we decided to take our dogs somewhere they could have a good swim and to do the full lap which I think is about 3.5 miles. First 2/3s of the walk was great. All off lead for the dogs but we were really disappointed that there isn't a full walkway all around.... More

Love the flash. It's so beautiful. I love long walks with my dog there. I love tasking photos of the birds and the lake and the sunsets. And Saturday morning park runs... Ahh, lovely!

Beautiful area with views, tranquility, wildlife. We parked in the first car park and walked through the woods round the lake before reaching the second car park which is chargeable. We were a bit disappointed we could not walk all the way around the lake and had to turn back but still a lovely day.

Fantastic and charming place to visit for a quiet relaxing walk. Wildlife galore at the right time of day. Frequented by walkers, families, photographers. There is a childrens' play area and toilets available. For golfers its right next to the Golf club.

went to feed the ducks/swans/geese one geese was a bit impatient and nearly bit my hand off. i think for the £2.50 parking charge Wigan council should really feed the ducks/ geese/ swans as they seemed really hungry. i realy cant see what they do for the parking fee really.
