Nice little Museum, Not worth the price
Apr 2012 • Couples
Visited this museum April 2012, Im not much of a fan of Gone with the Wind so this didnt appeal to me at all, my girlfriend is however a huge fan of the movie, and she wanted to go inside, it was $10 a person which I thought was over priced for what they offered, they wouldnt allow you to take any pictures. It was ok to see it once but I wouldnt go back. I don't think my girlfriend was very impressed either. They had a small gift shop with some over priced things. If your a huge fan of Gone with the Wind this place may have appealed to you, if your not a fan it is very sleep inducing. We spent about 30 min inside and that was really taking our time, and was about 20 mins longer than I wanted to be in there.

The place is small but nice, and even thou it wasnt my cup of tea I am a little saddened to hear the place closed.

Museum Now Closed
Feb 2013 • Family
I looked forward to visiting the Gone with the Wind Museum in Branson, however when planning our trip discovered it is now closed permanently. The website is still online and has announced its closure. That's too bad, since it had so many great reviews. I gave it 5 stars based on other reviews and the Thank You note left on the website deserves a good rating:)

A wonderful experience
Dec 2011 • Friends
I am not a collector but I've always liked the movie. My husband and I along with friends visited the GWTW Museum a few months ago and were just enthralled with the beautiful displays and the personal nature of her collection. The owner's collection is one of the largest in the country and includes a variety of authentic costumes, photos, play bills, furniture, memorabilia and collectables of every sort. The displays were beautifully set and referenced for those of us who are novices. The owner responded to every question we had with additional information and background on each item. She told us that we were seeing only a fraction of her collection and that she rotates it to always have something new for return visitors. One of my favorite displays was the autographs. I wish we had had more time (and a camera) because I'm certain that those familiar with GWTW and knowledgeable collectors would spend at least a couple of hours. This lovely museum is a unique addition to the Branson experience. We will certainly be back to see more of this unique collection.

Great Display*Loved It
Jun 2012 • Couples
Went to see the "Gone With The Wind" museum in Branson, MO and we loved it. Our daughter was a fanitac about the movie and book and did have some things she collected. Sadly, she never made it to the museum as she passed 3 years ago, but we got to see it and had her with us in our hearts. She would have totally loved it. The man that greated us was very nice and offered to take our picture in front of the poster and we did take him up on the offer. Whenever we had any questions, he was always there to pleasantly answer them. Totally it was a wonderful experience that we will remember. Best thing to see and do in town.

A wonderful experience!

My adult daughter and I visited this museum as a treat for her birthday since she has always been GWTW fanatic ever since she first read the book as a teen. We have both read the book and seen the movie multiple times since. We had high expectations and certainly were not disappointed! Although it is not an extremely large venue, everything was beautifully displayed, clearly referenced and there was such an incredible variety, including props, furniture and costumes as well as original call sheets and production sheets from the movie, etc. It is an immense collection and from talking to the owner, we learned that she has much more memorabilia and rotates the displays periodically so that there is always something new to see. As a result, we are definitely planning to go back in October. I think everyone who ever thrilled to the book or to the movie needs to make this a must-visit stop when in or near Branson, Missouri.

WONDERFUL DISPLAY !
May 2012 • Solo
THe collection shown at the GWTW museum in Branson is one of the top ones in existance. The owner was a MAJOR lender to the largest GWTW exhibit ever staged in 2011 for the 75th anniversary of the book's publication. Original art work, costume items, scripts and merchandise items from over the years are beautifully displayed in custom built cases worthy of a major museum facility. Spotless restrooms and a very nice gift shop section are also a plus at this outstanding DIsplay of treasures.....

Gone With the Wind Heaven!
Aug 2012 • Family
My Family and I are great fans of the book and the film. We went to the wax museum and Rippley's and Titanic. This was by far the best of the four. If you are any type of GWTW fan This is a must, not to mention the fact that it was the most inexpensive museum in town and kids 11 and under are free. Im pretty sure the collector there has one of every piece of memorabilia ever made, in addition to original props, costumes, and furniture. Don't leave Branson with out visiting this museum.

"What A Wonderful Museum"
Jun 2012 • Friends
The Gone With The Wind Museum in Branson Missouri is a definite must-see. I am a collector of GWTW memorabilia and I have been to all the GWTW museums that I know exists. This one rates right at the top of the list. Even if one is not a collector, there are items here that you will never see anywhere else. There are original items as well as reproduction items. The display cases are beautiful, well lit and certainly display their contents with class. I definitely will return to the museum on my next visit to Branson!

I'm a Hugh Gone With The Wind fan and this is the best museum by far of any that I have seen. The place is first class all the way. The items are displayed very well, they is good lighting so you actually see what is in the cases. There are a lot of items that are actually from the movie and are not reproductions as well as a lot of really rare items that I had never seen before. If you love the book or the movie you will not be disappointed in your visit.

I felt the cost of the tickets was very reasonable for all you get to see. A collection of this magnitude must have taken years and thousands of hours to acquire. As a collector myself of GWTW items i can tell you its well worth the trip.

Don't let first review scare you away. Enjoy as I know I did. A fellow "Windie"!

A Branson treasure!
This beautiful museum in downtown Branson is an incredible tribute to "Gone With the Wind," both book and film. The items on display--from original props and costume sketches to books, posters and promotional items--will keep you fascinated, and a wonderful gift shop offers the chance to take home a souvenir of your visit. By all means, stop by for a trip down memory lane.
