Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying at Whale Huys and decided to walk along the cliff top path to the caves which was well worth it. One of the caves is currently being converted into two underground swimming pools. Well worth a visit.

We started in De Kelders and walked along the cliff path to visit the caves. There are a few caves along the way. The path is easy to follow with many spots along the way to enjoy the views of the clear waters, plus we had the Southern Right Whales to keep us company! We didn’t venture down into the main large cave itself, however walk is very enjoyable. It is rocky on places so need decent shoes (not sandals).

Fascinating - the walk is quick and easy, and well worth it. Don't be fooled by the smaller first cave and turn back thinking you've seen the whole thing - the bigger cave with the boardwalks is the one to see.

Breath taking … beautiful.. a showcase of the natural coastline! A spirit of adventure and good waking shoes a must! The historical significance added a dimension.

Apart from the amazing history of the caves, we were simply enraptured by the views of the sea through the caves.

Very bad and dangerous, do not go there. Especially within season. Not Child friendly and steep cliffs. Glass everywhere, and a high potential of collapsing overhead rock formations.

Rs60 per person to enter the cave. A long flight of stairs lead down to the beach, then via some pebbles and rocky section to the cave. Some signage in the cave explain the history behind the cave. Overall a place worth visiting if in the area.

It was beautiful and very interested. Lots of stair going down not recommended for elderly people. Quite a mission once down there to get to the caves over all the pebbles and one have to be very careful. But I enjoyed that

I was staying at Grootbos so went with my guide Alison to visit the Klipgat Caves. They were beautiful. I also learned about how the bushmen had lived there previously. It was an unforgettable experience.

The caves were not accessible to us. There were some kelp/sea weed on the rocks on our way to the cave which were to slippery, We could therefore not entered the caves, but it was still a beautiful experience.
