We heard about Red Oak II from at least 4 different people. And it was better than they made it out to be. Quirky and fun. A geocache or two to add to your collection. Art, buildings, humor. It was a great way to start...More

Artist, Lowell Davis created this town to remind him of where he grew up. He moved structures in such as a church where they have music on Saturday nights, one of the Dalton Gangs home and more. Lowell's artwork is scattered around Carthage and lots...More

It's honestly difficult to give a review about this place. When we arrived we were uncertain where to park or what to do. I had read the previous reviews and knew that this was a unique place. Without direction, we were reluctant to get out...More

You want a brief escape from everything electronic, modern and hurried? Go here. No admission, nothing is open, everything is in great shape. What Lowell Davis has created here is nothing short of an amazing gift to people who appreciate an old-time way of life

A re-creation of an Illinois town. Apparently, the owner grew up in Red Oak, Il, moved away to make his fortune and upon returning found a ghost town. Thus the idea to remake it Missouri was born. A fantastic and quaint must see!

No food, no gift shop, and no real hours.... it is much like a small town, you just show up. However if you show up after dark, you may be challenged.... 8:00am to 6:00pm would be my suggestion. Respect those that actually... More

There's no entrance fee. It's free for everyone to enjoy. They have a Donations box if you want to throw in a few dollars though. But there's no pressure to do so.
