The roar of ATVs and off-road motorcycles combines with the peacefulness of rolling hills at Finger Lakes State Park, one of two ATV parks in the state parks system. Built in a former coal mining area, Finger Lakes’ trails and motocross track are popular with users who come for the day, but often fall under the spell of the spacious campground, leafy trees and hilly terrain. The park is also the site of the state’s newest mountain bike trail, the challenging 2.25-mile Kelley Branch Trail, scheduled to open in Spring 2011.

watch out for rude harassing ranger and speed traps.Speed limit signs non existent until you actually get into the park and ranger follows you like a hawk waiting for you to make a single mistake.

The area is very serene and peaceful. The view is nice and the area is very clean. For fishing, i would recommend using a boat since the banks have cedar in the water for fish habitats.

We went out this weekend to canoe on the lakes. This is an area that is old reclaimed coal mine land. The water paths are marked with colored paths. The kids love it. The water is mostly clear, lots of vegetation in the water. We did explore a bit too far and ended up in the sulfur area of the... More

We love to go climbing and hiking at finger lakes. My boys love it there. You can climb up high and see the great scenery or just hike around the trails. Nice little stream to wade in. And a small little dirt cave.

I take my canoe out and just wet my hook. What a nice relaxing area. You can also go out with fourwheelers or a dirt bike there is a nice trail for that as well.

If you have time walk this park, laid out to circle the park and lake. Nice water falls (man made). you can also fish on one end and jump in the lake at the other end.

If you like dirt bikes and such there are lots of really nice trails. If you just want to camp, stay away. It's loud and people are generally rude
