Enjoyed my visit to Stone Hill Winery. I went with a few friends last fall, and we had a wonderful time walking around town and touring the winery. I will definitely be keeping Stone Hill in mind for a future day trip.

When we went to Stonehill Winery in May, 2020, we were shocked to find the winery had doubled the price of their tastings to $12.00 per person during the COVID-19 shutdown. Nothing like gouging the customers at a time when you would think anyone coming to the winery at all would be considered favorably. We didn't do the tastings nor will we ever do them again if this price gouging continues. We did however buy a case of wine which is our habit to do so when we go to the winery. The wine as stated online was $12.00 a bottle. In the store it was $12.00 per bottle with the customary 15% case discount bringing the total to $136.06 . BAIT AND SWITCH: In September we returned to Stonehill. Tastings were still $12.00 per person so we declined, but we told the employee we’d take a case of Chardonel. The price online was still $12.00 per bottle but that did not match the price in the store. The store price had increased to $15.29 per bottle. Because we have bought the Stonehill wine for 20+ years, several times a year, we didn’t see this discrepancy until we got home. Instead of the $136.06 we paid in May, we were now charged $173.40. We called to ask if there was a mistake in the charge. We were greeted with hostility from the owner claiming they had lawyers if we wanted to take it further. We did file a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General. We have now increased our allegiance and patronage to other area wineries that do not mislead their customers. We are DONE with Stonehill Winery.

We visited the winery portion of Stone Hill and the restaurant portion. The winery portion was very businesslike. You could tell they wanted us to power through the samples and get out. The wine was fine if you like sweet fruity wine. We had a reservation at the restaurant and ate there the next day. The food was really good. The schnitzel was great and you can get a side of spaetzle if you ask.

Thanks for spending time with us. Our schnitzel is our most popular item and we are glad you really enjoyed it. During your tasting we are sorry if you felt rushed and I will share this with our salesroom team, as we want guests to feel relaxed and take time to enjoy. We hope you found one of our wines to your liking. Of our 30+ wines more than 1/2 are dry, however they may not have all been available for tasting that day. Thanks again for your visit and hope to see you again.

Enjoyed our visit and the wine tasting (although it was the most costly out of the 4 places we visited). Had live music and plenty of room to move around. Views of Hermann were great as well. I would visit again. .

My husband and I stopped in with my brother and his wife for a tasting and lunch. The gift shop was spacious with many nice, unique items for sale. Our tasting was very good. The pourer had good information and was very pleasant. We went to the restaurant for lunch and it was an old converted horse stable. Very unique. The German cuisine was so delicious. I recommend!
