We did a wine tasting a few days before so we wanted to try something different with the olive oil tasting. The host did offer us the wine tasting (it’s free) but since we were driving we said no. We were helped by a woman to two small glasses of olive oil. Both were really nice and one was quite spicy which was interesting. I’m not sure what we expected, but it was quite a quick and simple tasting.
The museum is where you learn more about the process, so I would advise doing the museum first and then the tasting afterwards so you can ask any questions. It’s a small museum with lots of antique olive oil making equipment which is really cool. There were lots of modern video descriptions of processes in French and English (not sure of other languages). This made the whole experience really enjoyable. We weren’t there for long (30mins) but the staff were lovely and I’d fully recommend to anyone interested in passing by for a short visit. Its not far from Oppède-le-vieux and other beautiful villages in the Luberon mountains/valley so a perfect stop on a tour of the area.
