Beautiful Capitol building.

I had little time to visit, but I always make a point of taking pictures of State Capitol buildings when I have the opportunity. I wasn't disappointed.

If you have any interest in the history of Missouri, the state capitol is well worth a visit. The setting, on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River, is very scenic. Be sure and walk around the building so you can see this magnificent building from all angles. The museum inside has lots of interesting information and the photographs of state... More

I joined the free guided tour and was not disappointed. We were a small group so I was able to talk a lot with the excellent guide (Emily, was it? Sorry, I'm terrible with names.) and ask many questions to which I got interesting answers. I don't want to spoil the contents of the tour, but it is far from... More

My husband and I visited the Missouri capital building on our cross country trip. We didn't do a guided tour, but walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere. We didn't get a chance to see the senate or rep chambers as they were both closed. The capital building is just a few blocks from the governor's mansion.

One of the prettiest capitol's I have ever been too and the most beautiful area down by the river. If you get a chance, be sure to go into the building and check out or tour.

It is funny how the Midwest capitals all look alike. the Benton mural is worth taking in. sneak in with a tour guide to get the full meaning of the painting.

Interesting 1hr tour although you could do your own self guided tour and spend many hours. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. There's also an educational museum on site.

Beautiful murals and two museums off the rotunda make it worth a visit. The rotunda is nice but dozens of folding chairs are left in place. Regretfully the Senate & House of Reps chambers remain locked. The exterior construction adds to parking concerns. All that said -- don't leave Jefferson City without a visit!

We really enjoyed our guided tour of the State Capitol, and Kelly was an excellent tour guide. The highlight of the tour was seeing the Thomas Hart Benton room-sized mural of the social history of Missouri. Kelly explained each one of the panels and pointed out things that we would never have noticed on our own. He actually did the... More
