Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The statuary faces the Missouri River and not the street, so it would be easy to miss it if you were driving by. But don't. It's very, very well done. It's just to the southeast of the Capital Building.

The Lewis and Clark Monument near the Missouri Capitol grounds pays tribute to the beginning of an expedition significant to US history. The monument figures face the river with shrubbery behind them. It is the shrubbery that may cause visitors to miss the monument; we recommend an awareness of the location or gps.
In September, midday sun gave better light for photos than early morning. We also enjoyed walking the capitol grounds to see other statues and monuments and a fountain. A bridge walkway provides a look out over the Missouri River.

These bigger than life sized statues portray a significant part of the American expedition to the west. It is located very close to the Missouri Capitol.

Just a block from the Missouri Capitol are good sculptures of Corps of Discovery personalities—Lewis & Clark, Seaman, York, and Drouillard—who encamped here June 4, 1804. Easy area parking.

Nice statues with minimal interpretive panels. But a beautiful place for pictures. Easy walk from other historical sites in town.

Definitely worth seeing this. Would have stayed longer but for the overwhelming heat. Sculptures are very well done.

Beautiful grounds. The monument also has monuments for vets over the USA history, fallen officers throughout the USA history.
