Great Way To Spend A Few Hours
The Crown Center is best described as a shopping and entertainment center. It's the Crown Center because of its affiliation with Hallmark. In fact, it's home to the Hallmark Visitors Center & International Headquarters. It's touristy but worth a visit.

    Kansas City/Independence Experience
Kansas City, Mo has many things to see and they are not all about football. We visited the WWI Memorial and the Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Also took in the Truman Library and Museum as well as the Truman home in Independence which is a short trip, maybe 10 miles from downtown KC. If you do go to Independence seeing the Bingham- Waggoner house and Vaille Mansion are both great to see.

Do yourself a favor if you cant get validated parking, & walk over from union station!
The Good: Validated parking was a life saver when heading over to the Legoland! Easy to shop, Free splash pad & playground! The Bad: Confusing Parking, wait times, Staff have no clue where any other businesses are located

    Needs better filtration and cleaning
It was way to hot. Temp was 74, inside a bld with kids is just right for germs. On the ride one seat was broke and only one person running it. Way too long too wait. Very small place. Nice place with legos to build.

    A city within a city
I have been visiting this mall since I was a kid. And boy, there is a lot to do there! Most of the shops are locally owned, which makes it a unique experience for the shopper. There's a Crayola Store, Halls (Hallmark's very own department store), and a Amy's Hallmark store because Crown Center is the home of Hallmark, the greeting card giant of the world. There is even a Hallmark's Visitor Center for those curious about the history of Hallmark and a children's museum called Kaleidoscope, which was recently renovated (personally, I like the pre-renovated design more because it was more fun and compelling for the imagination of the kid). At winter, the pavilion becomes an ice skating rink, a tradition in Kansas City for more than 50 years. There is also a Legoland Discovery Center and a Sea Life aquarium. Crown Center has great connections to two hotels: the Westin Crown Center and the Sheraton Crown Center. The Westin is a part of Crown Center while the Sheraton is connected by an overhead bridge known as the Link. The Link extends further into Union Station, another popular and historic place in Kansas City that is fun for all ages. There is plenty of parking, too, and by plenty, I mean MASSIVE amounts of parking. There are three parking garages, one under the shopping complex, one under the Westin, and one under the office complex (that can be used for common parking, too). Crown Center Square is a nice place for your kids to play outside. Unfortunately, the iconic fountains which used to allow kids to play in it no longer allow kids in it. As I mentioned before, there are office buildings within the complex. There are also two residential buildings: the San Francisco Tower and Santa Fe Place. Overall, an amazing mall that doesn't seem like a mall but rather an entire city within a city. Definitely check it out if you're in KC.

Parking at Crown Center used to be free on weekends. I've been going there for years and never paid on weekends. I went there on Sunday and spent less than 15 minutes at Crown Center to buy some tea and was charged $7 for parking.

We went with a KC native & she was stunned to see sooo many stores & eateries out of business......very sad.

Hall's upscale department store was the only place worth going to......& they had lot's of propel there and employees that actually seemed to enjoy being there!!

Free covered parking.

Crown Center used to be pretty awesome, but there's not a lot left there anymore except for experiences like Lego, Sea Life, etc. versus actual retail shops. We come on a fairly regular basis to visit the Coterie Theater, which is great; however, the food court is tiny, and most of the seating has been removed. There's usually a very long line at the train restaurant. Halls and the Crayola store are worth a look.

We were in the area to celebrate our grandson's 5th birthday. After spending time at Union Station, we walked over to Crown Center to visit some shops. Due to COVID not all places were open. We did get to walk around & have a snack, then eat in the food court. The tables were distanced & we saw the tables being cleaned after anybody left.

This was mine and my husbands first ever visit to Kansas City Missouri. We were only there for 3 days but my favorite place to visit was Crown Center. Infact we went 4 times in 3 days. They have a restaurant there called Fritz`s. It is so cool. Its a train station. A little train brings your food to the table from up above. You have to see it to know what I mean. They also have the Hallmark Center where they show you how Hallmark Cards are made. It also has many stores that we dont have in our malls at home. We are planing another trip there soon. If you get the chance you need to go.
