A lot of fun with a lot of different animals. The discounts they give to the people who live in that area far exceed the ones they give to military. I think we got a dollar off.

If you goal is walk, walk, walk and not see animals up close - then this is your zoo. Vast open areas of land - great for animals (what little are there) but not for the people who want to see them. Do not waste...More

Recently I have visited the zoo with my family. The zoo is average as many animals are not available to see. The sea lions show, penguins and few animals were a good watch. Everything (trams, shuttles) inside the zoo is priced. Also if animals are...More

The day we went a "penguin march" and "pumpkin smashing" were advertised, and both were over-rated. The pumpkin smash consisted of putting carved pumpkins in with a number of animals that had minimal interest and no inclination to smash them-- a rock hyrax wandered over...More

I love this zoo! I took my kids to this zoo many times. If you have young children I recommend getting a family season pass, the price upfront is ok but in the long run if you're kids like animals the pass is worth it.

Only the second zoo we’ve visited but as we visited during school time the place was quiet. Staff were amazing and took time to speak with us.

The zoo is outdated and the enclosures are small. The admission is pricey if bringing a family. The food stands were out of food, like funnel cake. If you live in mid MO save yourself the price of admission and go to St. Louis.

Came to town to see the races. Needed extra entertainment. The zoo was a hit. Had so many things to do for young and old. I recommend you stop by.

We always have fun at the zoo! They have added some new play areas that the little ones enjoyed a lot! We rode the Safari ride which was also a very good experience. We missed the feeding at stingray bay so plan that accordingly. They...More

This zoo is huge. They have a large variety of animals to see. They seem to really cater to smaller children with a giant playground area that looks to be relatively new and very colorful. We loved the penguins and polar bear. I would say...More

Mci is north of KC downtown and Zoo is south. So you will have to cross a Kc to arrive there. It will be about a 30 to 40 minutes trip.
