There are several restaurants down here that have great character and good food. Gorozzos is one. Its been there a long time, great service, and pretty good italian, better than most in Kansas city. Its a little pricey, packed, and if you dont set a reservation you probably won't be seated for a hour or more. Even with a reservation... More

Little is the key word. There is one block in the little Italy section and one store. How is this even considered little Italy?? NY and Boston have little Italy's, not Kansas City!

Neat to drive around town and see all of the different water fountains. Nice photo opportunities.

When my wife and I were first married over 20 years ago we like to shop and had friends in the area. The Catholic church there often gave mass in Italian and there were lots of Italian specific groceries, pastries, and restaurants. NO MORE! Most Italians have moved out and Hispanics have moved in. I grew up in Columbus park/Little Italy in the 60s/70s. It was a great place in those days. The entire area was dominated by Sicilian culture. The smells of home cooked Sicilian food emanated from every house. The homes were old world Sicilian in appearance and decoration, the sounds of Italian language filled the air.
