An amazing surprise!!

I came here in October with my wife and my best friend and his gf. We chose the Macabre Cinema because it was less crowded than the Beast and the Edge of Hell, and because we liked the Movie theme. My best friend and I love haunted houses, horror movies, and all that good stuff. This was both of our first experience with a haunted attraction in KCMO.

Car parked and we go up to the line. The exterior of the building is lightly decorated, but they have some costumed actors outside to 'warm up the crowd'. One of the best features was ol' Leatherface himself reving up his very loud chainsaw behind some unsuspecting patrons, mostly girls. The reactions were priceless!!!! It was a blast to watch, and it made waiting in the very short line outside a great experience.

Once inside, you provide them with your ticket, sign your life away, and enter the haunted house. Couple of things about this: there are very dark and dangerous stairs: go SLOWLY and be CAREFUL. Otherwise your gonna have a bad time. Watch your step, hold hand rails, be safe. Don't be a jerk and use your phone or bring a flashlight.

It took us a good 30 minutes to make our way through the attraction. We, along with some other guests, got lost at a certain point, which was disorienting, creepy, trippy, and fun.

The actual haunted house itself is very well done, very immersive, a TON of fun, and this was a very pleasant surprise. The Macabre Cinema by itself is a stand alone, excellent haunted experience. I am excited to check out the other two this year, but we were more than happy with MC being our big haunted attraction for Halloween. I also liked the fact that we were not jammed up by long lines and tons of people. I was positively reflecting on our experience with this for months to come.

Bought a 3 house combo ticket. The Edge of hell, which is the same after 20 years. No new ideas. The Beast, ok. Favorite of 3. Cinema Macabre. The Cinema Macabre boasted a new attraction up to and including when we purchases ticket but it wasn't operational when we got to it. The Cinema Macabre had some great, unique and refreshing ideas but it's in it's new phase. I'm curious how it will be in a few years.

Meh
We bought a four house combo. This was our least favorite. It still had some good scares, but it's just not as good as the other three.
