Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a good place for Lake of the Ozarks souvenirs. We went to a couple and found this one the best. Kitschy but that’s part of the charm. Stuff is expensive but there were a few deals. There weren’t any other stores cheaper that we could find. Lots of selection. Worth a stop.

It was a much better and a lot more fun place back in the day. Just like everything else on the strip nowadays it's too commercialized. Used to be a good family place. Now specially at night it's nothing but a bunch of bars.

We love the arcade!! So much fun! Yeah it may be a little toasty as it's open air, however they do a good job of using big fans to keep air moving. Almost all of the older machines and skeeball are only 25 cents each. Makes you feel like a kid, especially when you take the tickets up to the counter to pick out cheap trinkets. Love it!

Been stopping into this place since I was a kid. Always cool, interesting things to look at and/or buy in this place. Souvenirs out the ears and the ladies behind the counter are some of the kindest, friendliest one could ever hope to meet! Next door is one of the greatest sights to behold. A huge video game arcade, fully functioning in the 21st Century! Tons of games, be it video, skee-ball, pool... it's all there. Sure, the bumper cars are history, but they obviously needed the room for all of the games they've added since I was last here! lol. These places are staples as far as I'm concerned. Been coming to them since the 80's, and always have a good time!
Thanks for being there Dogpatch! :)

I have fond memories of dogpatch 50 years ago, when they had the outhouse with the hillbillies in them in the back, all the real elaborate coin operated things in the store, like the monkey band, etc, I was looking for some really cool fake indian stuff for my grandson,,guess things change, now you can buy a donald trump pen,,and all kind of t shirts, that pertain to the image that guns are real american, and wholesome, or you can buy a NRA cap, and not even belong to the NRA,,just about bought a couple of Vietnam veteran caps, to give some friends that were way to young to have served in Vietnam,,kind of store now, that courts right wing extreme messages,,but even if your a liberal like me, its worth the stop,,,,,I answered the question if this was a place for trend setters, maybe,,,depends on the trend your trying to set

I've heard about this place for years, from numerous people that have traveled to the Ozarks. So, my husband and I decided to stop on our overnight stay in town. For the most part it was a typical souvenir shop, and they were quite proud of their stuff ($9.99 for a coffee mug??) I did find a few things that were on sale that we purchased. Huge selection of t-shirts, and they were decent priced at $9.99, except for the larger sizes, which of course cost more. So, we didn't get t-shirts, because I'm not gonna pay more for a shirt just because I'm fat. The older woman working at the front desk did NOT appreciate us interrupting her book reading to check us out. She was not friendly at all. So, all in all, it was a typical souvenir shop.

Store abuses hermit crabs and sells them to people telling them all they need is a tiny cage and a tiny bit of water which is false

This is the absolute coolest place to shop! Miniature games, hermit crabs, lake memorabilia, and on and on. This store is a throwback to a better, simpler time.
Must go to if you're at the Lake!
Easy to find on the Bagnell Dam Strip.

Even though the arcade was closed we had a fun time walking around the store itself. It has tons of great gifts and souvenirs for all ages. A must if you are on the strip

Fun to walk around and look at all the fun stuff they have. Bought the grandkids some t-shirts and other souvenirs. I would definitely recommend this spot when looking for souvenirs.

Sorry to be so late to see your question! More sorry that i really can't give you an answer, I'm only 39 years old so have no idea about 55 years back concerning Dogpatch. Again, wish i could have been more helpful and hope you found the answer you were looking for by now. 👍
