We wanted to look in the gift store, which looked really cute, and we asked to use the restroom. We were not allowed without paying the admission price to the museum. We got there one hour before closing time, and didn't think we had enough...More

$6 to get in. You get your money's worth and more. We spent over two hours walking around and looking at stuff. Only downside, no strollers allowed.

The Patee House offers a wide variety of displays and explains a lot of local history. The most interesting part to me was the room where the Pony Express was developed.

We have lived in St. Joseph for two years. This was a great place to go with family. Lots of history, great displays, and perfect for all ages.

This museum has a large collection from the 1800's. Very family friendly. Pay 25 cents to play the seek and find for the kids. Great starter place for St. Joseph history. Large Train engine inside. Jesse James house right next door. Worth a visit....
