Christmas at the Chase.
Dec 2018 • Couples
My husband and I reserved a room at the Chase to have a couples night out. Rudi at the front desk upgraded our reservation to a beautiful suite overlooking the park. We had an amazing stay that included watching a movie in the Chase theater (popcorn is one of the best), happy hour at the Preston, and dinner at the Tenderloin Room. The Christmas decorations are elegant. Overall, a great stay!

Great popcorn!

What a treat to be able to go to a movie right in the hotel that we were staying at. Friendly service and the prices were fine. Comfortable seats too.

quaint theatre
Dec 2018 • Family
Very intimate setting. The seats are very nice, comfortable, not reclining but semi-rocking. Only about 5-6 seats on each side of the isle with about 3-4 spots open for wheelchairs. I'd guess there was only about 80-100 seats. Id guess the screen was about 25 feet wide.
Concession was average price. Large Coke and Large Popcorn $11.00. Popcorn was good.

If you are not familiar with the area, the movie theater is in the same building as the hotel and restaurant. When you enter what appears to be the Theater entrance you have to maze your away around to the left to find the concession stand, where you will purchase/pick up your tickets.

They are part of a network with a few other small theaters and gave us a punch card when we got our tickets. Once one gets 10 punches the next ticket is free.

Street side Parking was VERY limited so we parked in a garage. The movie theater is able to validate for the first two hours. We had not been here before so we were about an hour early and the movie was more than 2 hours so we spent $3.00 after the validation to park.

Chase Hotel Parking
Jun 2018 • Couples
I have been going to the Chase for many years. Went there for my honeymoon, had a party for my 20th year in business, and go at least once a month to their bar, cinema, or other events. So you would think I would get their attention when they damage a wheel parking my car. The service they hire as well as the hotel manager did not really care. Considering how minor the damage was you would think they would just take care of it so I would come back and keep spending. But that did not happen. They lost a lot more in just a couple of months of my business than it would have cost them to fix the wheel.

The best movies, the best popcorn and a beautiful location
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a great cinema. It shows the best movies (which means limited showings of superheroes), has the best popcorn and is in the beautiful Chase Park Plaza Hotel. The snack bar is fantastic. The seats are comfortable . And just like every other movie house in the USA, you have to tell the counter person, "Yes, I do want butter" on the "buttered popcorn" you ordered fifteen seconds earlier. But that's not the Chase's fault. or is it? Anyway, a great movie house.

Organ music pre-movie!
Apr 2018 • Couples
My son bought the tickets on-line as we were travelling to meet up for a long weekend in St Louis. The theater looked close to our hotel, so he bought the tickets. What a surprise when we approached the theater by car, and realized it was in a great old building. We found public parking nearby, had dinner, then headed in to the theater. There was someone playing an organ in the theater. I've never seen that before. What a treat!

The seats aren't as comfortable as some other theaters, and you can't reserve your seat like you can at many other theaters, but it's still a gem in my book.

Great Hotel / Great Staff
Apr 2018 • Business
I had to attend my company’s leadership meeting in St. Louis, MO. Not a town that I particularly enjoy visiting. I wasn’t sure where my leadership team will book meetings. I was presently surprised when we were booked to stay at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel. The Hotel made me take another look at an area of the country that I try to avoid like the plague.

The Management Staff were outstanding. Restaurant and Bar Tenders were second to none. Food and drink prices were really below what I expected. They have a full size gym that is right on par with a 24 Hour Fitness. The gym had a smoothie bar too. There is a Barber Shop and a Gift Shop That can sell you a men’s shirt just in case you run short during your visit. There is a 6 screen Movie Theater inside the Hotel, and a Piano Bar That has live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. There is enough meeting space to host and corporate event and a view from the rooftop where you can get a straight line view of the St. Louis Arch.

The rooms were clean and large but, could use an upgrade. I didn’t use the pool area because of the cold weather but, there was enough room in the pool area to host a poolside event. It’s an Historic Hotel that needs some updates but, you’ll enjoy the stay. WiFi needs some upgrading but it works for the most part.

Overall I had a fantastic stay. Upscale shops and bars are right outside the hotel and an upscale grocery store is less than a block away. If you have to go to St. Louis The Chase is the place to stay.

Good location if you're staying in the hotel; otherwise, not sure
Nov 2017 • Family
After a longish day at the St. Louis Zoo with an 8-year-old, sitting down for a movie seemed like a good idea. We were staying in the Chase Park Plaza, so this in-house theater was a blessing. The box office is a bit obscure if you're not coming in from outside, but we found it and enjoyed the late-afternoon pricing. The place has six theaters, and the one we were in was tiny -- two seats on one side of the aisle and four or five on the other, and probably about 18 rows. Our movie was quiet and the one next door was some VERY noisy fantasy, but that's the way it is in these multiplexes. The place was clean, the seats were comfortable and had good leg room. We didn't sample the concessions, but I'm sure they were typical and would have cost more than the movie!

If one weren't a hotel guest, I'm guessing that parking in the hotel garage is just about the only available parking -- not sure, there could have been some on-street parking nearby --- but the hotel parking would have run up the total movie price, as it's not cheap!
