This cathedral is gorgeous. The architecture on the outside and the art on the inside are breathtaking. This is definitely worth a short visit to see in all it's splendor.

This is an artist sweet spot. The mosaics are terrific and the basement museum (think it costs $1 donation) is well worth it. Took over 40 years to do all the mosaics and they are so worth seeing.

If you are lucky enough to be there when Larry is giving tours and answering questions, you are in for a real treat. His knowledge and ability to tell stories and backgrounds of the church design,... Yes, this is a Catholic church but the mosaics are truly astonishing. The Cathedral Basilica rivals any of the grand churches of Europe. It was completed around 1914. Every inch of the interior is covered with mosaics. It is a wonder to the eye no matter the religion.
