We have visited the old Cathedral many times during this renovation process, It is finally completed and to see it in its splendor is magnificent. If your are downtown and close to the Gateway Arch this is a wonderful place to visit. The Cathedral is free. However the Museum on the street side of the edifice has a nominal fee and is... More

The Old Cathedral is a good place to visit if you're downtown near the arch and the river to visit. The Museum is a good look at some St. Louis and Catholics in St. Louis history. The museum is only a dollar to visit. The cathedral is free to get in and look around and is well worth it. The... More

Much of the exterior and interior Old Cathedral restoration has been completed and now the Old Cathedral Museum is open for our enjoyment. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is a $1.00 admission fee so you will definitely get your money's worth. There are photos and artifacts that trace the Basilica of... More

A very well kept and beautiful old church, very close to entrance to the Arch. Wonderfully polished wood, and amazing tiles up around the altar. A special place to find peace within a city, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist routes. Take time to just sit there and admire the loving care given to the upkeep of... More

This is a great example of a simple and clean restoration of a 19th century church. The small details need to be sought out to be appreciated. We happened to stop by right after their afternoon mass ended. It's a very beautiful church to visit.

We attended services here and had a great chance to observe the success of returning this historic church to its original form. Not ostentatious, but simply beautiful. If you are going to the Arch, definitely take a look.

It would've been nice to check out the inside bit it was closed when I was here. The outside is absolutely gorgeous. Well worth taking time to walk by it.

An important part of the founding of St Louis and the expansion into the west. This little gem was beautiful on the inside and a short walk if you are already visiting the arch.

The old cathedral is located next to the Gateway Arch and grounds. It is very nice and the wood floors and renovation is beautiful. We attended noon mass and really enjoyed worshipping there.

We started attending this church regularly just before it's restoration began a couple of years ago. The results are wonderful. The floors, pews, walls and ceilings turned out better than new. The new sound system makes readings and homilies much more enjoyable. The choir is great is an added bonus. Christmas and Easter masses were much more enjoyable in this... More
