Great place--not for kids

This is a gorgeous free museum in the city--however, it is not a place for kids. Keep that in mind when you go.

I guess because I knew it was free, I guess I was expecting a lesser experience. I WAS WRONG. This museum is beautiful, with so many world class pieces and beautiful collections. I cannot wait to go back with my kids with more time!

This free museum has a collection spanning centuries, including a very good impressionist/post impressionist collection. It's a large space, and paintings are beautifully arranged, lit, and well curated.

The St. Louis Art Museum is a museum lover's paradise. Gorgeous Beaux Arts Building filled with delicious art. The general collection is free to the public. Just pop-in and see the masters including an excellent collection of the Impressionists and the Post-Impressionists. There is usually an fee to see the special exhibitions but Friday, the whole museum is free.

We have been to the art museum at least 20 times. It is always a wonderful cultural experience for our family. They have amazing exhibits and a great restaurant and gift shop. Enjoy!

Very nice collection of modern art through old masters. Located inside of Forest Park so it makes a great place to stop when exploring the park.

They have the world's largest collection of Max Beckmann paintings which is the key reason to visit. A nice museum overall, but very difficult to navigate due to the layout of the museum. It is free thanks to the property tax payers of Saint Louis.

This elaborate three story building is filled with fantastic art from all over the world. The grounds are beautifully landscaped as well. It was free and amazing!
