The 112-acre Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park contains a number of garden attractions including the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden and Dr. Roston Native Butterfly House; the historic Gray-Campbell Farmstead; picnic pavilions; access to the South Creek Greenway. The park is open sunrise to sunset. The Botanical Center/ welcome center is open Monday-Saturday 8 am - 8 pm and Sunday 11 am - 6pm April - October. The building closes at 5 pm November - March. The majority of the park is free.

Went for a nice stroll around looking at the flowers, just enjoying a warm sunny afternoon. Beautiful pieceful place to go relax. It's located on Scenic across from Horton Smith golf course.

This was such a serene place to visit. I truly enjoy bringing my dog here, and allowing to see such diverse groups of people. The scenery is great too!

Our Butterfly House features native butterflies and is open May 11 - Sept 30. All the staff inside this attraction are volunteers. We have training sessions scheduled for April 18 and 21. It is free, but donations help buy plants; feed caterpillars and make repairs.

Although it was a cloudy day, the park was wonderful! Well taken care of, so many trail options, wildlife viewing, and all for free! Great for young kids or active people.
