Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Kansas City, Weston Bend State Park offers secluded picnic sites, sweeping views of the Missouri River from an overlook and from trails, and a scenic overlook accessible to persons with disabilities. A three-mile paved loop trail takes hikers and bikers through the woody terrain and the park also features a campground.

The overlook provides a great view of the river where Lewis and Clark explored on their famous trip.

There are a few nice trails. Very family friendly trails that are not too challenging. There is a paved trail for biking. Campsites are available. Never too crowded.

There is no place in the park to swim. There are two water parks within a 30 minute drive. One south of the Kansas City airport and one in the Leavenworth, KS area. Yes to the camping sites for tents and RVs. Check with the... More

Lots of people take strollers. The pavement is fine for them. The hills could be challenging if the 'driver' isn't used to hills. As a practical aside--Make sure to use your stroller safety strap to attach to your wrist.
